The Suzuki Swift got a new upgrade in its 2008 version. Among the new features we can see a new 1.2L engine, a CVT gearbox and other small upgrades. The changes in the looks department for the Suzuki Swift 2008 include better bumpers, new grille and turning signals on the mirrors. In the interior the new Suzuki Swift got better trim levels. On the engine side its got altered gear ratios for the Sport version.
I think it will be some time before we see these changes in the models here in Europe, but hey, it will show up eventually. The changes in this 2008 Suzuki Swift are minor, but better then nothing I guess. Still, me buying my own version couple months ago was a good decision in the end. This upgrade was not worth the wait to have this Suzuki Swift in my garage. Been extremely satisfied with it so far.

Great news for the Suzuki Swift fans out there. The Suzuki Swift was declared the best selling supermini in New Zealand for the year 2006. Not only that, but its the second year that our favorite car has managed to win in this segment, and a clear winner too. The total number of Suzuki Swift cars sold in New Zealand in 2006 was 2,060, while Honda only managed 1,916 with their Jazz model and Toyota Yaris only 1,795. Overall, the Suzuki Swift was the sixth best sold car in New Zealand in 2006, with a market share of 4%.
Its biggest advantages were its high quality and the performance on the road. If you compare the Suzuki Swift sales from December 2006 to those of the same month in 2005 you will notice that they sold 14% more, and that’s another big win for them. Another factor that helped with the sales was the launch of the Suzuki Swift Sport in the last quarter of 2006, which provided a huge boost in sales. The Suzuki Swift that is sold in New Zealand is imported from Japan, one of the four countries where this car is made. The price in New Zealand for the Suzuki Swift starts at $19,400.
Well done Suzuki and keep it up!

Good news for the Suzuki Swift apparently. I just heard from a very good friend that the Suzuki Swift had increased sales in Ireland in the year that passed, around 26% more actually, so that’s very good! More then 4,000 Suzuki Swift were registered in 2006, compared to the 3,200 registered in 2005. While in 2005 Suzuki Swift had 1.86% of the irish market, that share increased to almost 2.3% in 2006. The best reason I can see for this spectacular increase is probably the launch of the new Suzuki Swift, which I bet helped a lot. The new Suzuki Swift was also named the 2006 Irish Car of the Year.
Some other reasons for the sales boost for the Suzuki Swift are the bigger dealer network which now covers the entire country and the continued effort to improve their image in the irish market. For 2007, the irish Suzuki Swift has plans to increase this number of sales by bringing new products to the table at very good prices compared with those of the competition, plus an aggressive strategy to bring new clients in.
